Review By William Vitka
Alexander Maisey’s book filled me with the kind of excitement usually reserved for hardcore pornography. But, in fairness, part of the reason is: I’ve known Alex for a long time. Ages, it seems. And for the last few years, I’ve been poking and prodding (in an entirely non-pornographic way, I assure you) him to write a book.
Well, he finally did. It is excellent. And it is only the beginning.
I was never as into superhero culture as Maisey was. I liked it, but he LOVED it. So it’s fitting that his first serious venture into publishing is MALEVOLENCE. The book is filled with a wry self-awareness. And humor. And bloody good pulp action. It’s certainly unlike any superhero fiction I’ve ever read. That’s what makes it great … That, and a few wonderful twists.
